Oh, my lanta! Candace Cameron Bure was not prepared for what she walked into after accepting a party invite from a pal. "I thought, like, 'Oh, this person's a friend, and I’m going to be cool and do this,'" she explained on a March 2026 episode of The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast. So, she and husband Valeri Bure attended "and it ended up being this underground party that was an S&M sex thing that was so dark and demonic."
And everywhere she looked, everywhere she went, "My eyeballs were popping out of my head because I saw stuff I've never seen before in my life" the Full House alum continued. "And I’m looking at Val, going like, 'How are we here? What is happening?'"
Ultimately, she didn't stick around to find out. "We made a hard U-turn and walked right out of there," she added. "And it just was like so slimy and weird. And I was like, 'We’re going to pause before we ever say yes to going out with that friend again.'"
Thoughts and Prayers
When Bachelor alum Madi Prewitt revealed on the actress' podcast in March 2026 that she views the act as a form of "worship," even praying to God beforehand, Candace didn't exactly respond with an amen. As she noted, "A visual of God watching me having sex weirds me out."
Ideally, she would like her bedroom to be a little less full. "It totally just depends on your upbringing and what your past experiences have been or the things that you were taught as a kid," the star acknowledged. "All of those. Again, I’m almost 50 and some of those adolescent thoughts never quite leave your mind."
Because while she's comfortable with getting physical, "I’m giggling at it now," she added, "'cause I don’t want to think about God watching me have sex."
Better Late Than Never
According to the actress, Steve Carell was on to something with his 2005 breakout flick. "I've done a lot of parenting and had a lot of conversations in this area over the years," Candace explained during her chat with Prewitt. "But I have plenty of friends—they all laugh at the title of the movie The 40-Year-Old Virgin—but I have lots of friends that are."
Bible Study
As the whole word was social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cameron was feeling a growing chasm between her and Val, the former NHL right winger she wed in 1996.
"It was going south quickly," the mom to Natasha, Lev and Maksim shared during a July 2025 episode of her eponymous podcast. "And I was like, 'I don't know. I don't know if we're gonna make it through.'"
But an unexpected bible study proved to be the answer to their prayers. "Lev came up to us and said, 'We'd like to talk to you guys,'" Candace recounted of her second born. "Lev preached like a 45-minute sermon on marriage to us. Like had his bible open on the couch and just talked to us about it."
She credits his reminder that they've got it, dude, with helping them salvage their union. "He was just such a calm voice that had so much wisdom behind it," the Fuller House star explained. "And he looked us straight in the eye and individually asked me and asked Val, 'Have you done everything you can?' We walked away from that, and Val and I were like, 'We raised pretty good kids.'"
A "pivotal moment" in their marriage, she continued, "It really changed for us after that talk. It’s a whole different scenario when your kids sit you down to talk and say, 'Are you being as mature as you can be?'"
Attention Grab
Candace had little mercy for the fans who filled her DMs after she posted a photo of Val copping a feel in September 2020.
"For all the Christians that are questioning my post with my husband's hand on my boob—my husband of 24 years—thinking it was inappropriate, it makes me laugh because it's my husband," she detailed in a follow-up, posted to her Instagram Story. "We have so much fun together."
And so, yes, decades into their marriage, "He can touch me anytime he wants, and I hope he does," she added. "This is what a healthy, good marriage and relationship is all about."
As for her message to the haters? Cut. It. Out. "I'm sorry if it offended you...I'm actually not sorry," she summed up. "I'm glad that we have fun together after so many years and he can touch me all day long."
Pillow Talk
Let's talk about sex, baby. That was Candace's message to her fellow Christians months after she got in big trouble, mister, for letting her husband get a bit handsy. "Sometimes there's a skew about sex within the Christian community that I get really sad about," she shared during a November 2020 episode of Confessions Of A Crappy Christian Podcast. "Sex needs to be celebrated within marriage. It's not to be shameful."
Though that wasn't the messaging she received growing up in her full house. "I lived in such a fear of 'Oh my gosh, I'm not supposed to be a sexual person, because I have to save myself,'" she recounted. "'God is going to think negatively of me if I'm having sex.'"
Which meant that even after she married Val at the age of 20, she still felt a bit bad about getting busy. "For a few years, I would have sex with my husband thinking like, 'Oh my gosh, is God looking at me and like is this bad? Is he mad?'" she admitted of the early years of their marriage. "Now I embrace it so much that my kids are like, 'Mom, please stop talking about sex. Please stop.' But I've always been super open."
